Holidays

We aim to organize two to three short holidays each year, with an emphasis on affordability and popular appeal. In addition, some groups may organize holidays which are opened to the wider membership if places are available. Our holiday choices are informed by member surveys

Upcoming Holidays

Highlights of North Wales, 15th – 19th September 2025

We have teamed with Glentons to put together this special itinerary for our members.
We’ll be based in the beautiful Welsh seaside resort of Llandudno in north Wales, well known for its Victorian architecture, its long recreational pier, and scenic location. Our hotel is well located in the centre of the town, just off the seafront.
Our excursions will explore the spectacular Welsh landscape, including Snowdon, from the vantage point of some of Wales’ scenic heritage railways.
We’ll visit Caernarfon Castle, Conway, Betwy-y-Coed, gateway to Snowdonia, and Portmeirion, location of 1960s TV series The Prisoner and now one of Wales’ foremost visitor attractions.
The holiday includes:
Visits to Caernarfon and Conway (includes entry to Caernarfon Castle, a medieval fortress recognised around the world as one of the greatest buildings of the Middle Ages and grouped with Edward I’s other castles at Conwy, Beaumaris and Harlech as a World Heritage Site).
A journey from Caernarfon to Porthmadog on the scenic Welsh Highland Railway.
A visit to Llanberis for a ride to the Summit of Snowden on the Snowdon Mountain Railway.
A visit to Betws-y-Coed, popular inland resort and gateway to the peaks and lakes of Snowdonia National Park, where the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the West. Much of it was built in Victorian times, then renowned as an artist colony.
A visit to Portmeirion, a stunning Italianate village with hotels, cottages, shops, restaurants and cafes, woodland gardens and estuary views. location of 1960s TV series The Prisoner and now one of Wales’ foremost visitor attractions.
