Day Trip to the Scottish Antiques & Arts Centre and Dundee

Saturday 30th November 2024.Ā  Ā  Cost: Ā£18Ā 

Nestled in rural Perthshire and established in 1997, the Scottish Antiques & Art Centre has grown from small beginnings to a 4* visitor attraction of over 30,000 sq ft.
With over 100 dealers offering a wide range of items from jewellery, quirky collectables, vintage clothing, pottery, antique and vintage furniture, youā€™re sure to find your own piece of treasure.
Thereā€™s also a fully licensed Bistro Style restaurant onsite, and a food hall that offers a varied range of Confectionery, Scottish Whiskies, Wines, Artisan Gins and local craft beers.
The contemporary shopping includes furniture, homewares, greeting cards, branded ladies fashion and so much more. The result is a unique and fascinating shopping experience.
We then proceed to Dundee, city of Discovery where you will have free time to find restaurants, explore the shops or visit one of the many museums.
At Discovery Point climb aboard the Royal Research Ship, Discovery. Or visit the adjacent world-famous V&A museum, or the nearby Museum of Transport, HMS Unicorn. The McManus, Dundee’s Art Gallery and Museum has 8 galleries to explore and offers a fascinating insight into Dundee’s past. Or experience the fascinating tale of Dundeeā€™s industrial heritage at the Verdant Works Museum.

Glasgow Museums: Riverside Transport Museum and Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum

Our January 2025 coach trip visits Glasgow, taking in two of the city’s important galleries and museums.

The trip takes place on Saturday 25th January 2025. The price of Ā£18 covers all transport to, and admission to both museums.
Ā 
First we’ll go on to The Riverside Transport Museum located on the banks of the River Clyde, where you will find an incredible array of objects from vintage cars to powerful locomotives. You can even walk down an old cobbled Glasgow street with shops dating from 1895 to the 1980s.

You can also visit the 125 year old tall ship Glenlee moored behind the museum.

Then on to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum which houses one of Europeā€™s great art collections. The scope of the museum is very wide ranging.

The Life galleries represent natural history, human history and prehistory. The Expression galleries include the fine art collections. Further highlights are Rembrandtā€™s ā€˜Man in Armourā€™, ā€˜Christ and the Adulteressā€™ by Titian and Salvador Daliā€™s ā€˜Christ of St John of the Crossā€™. Scottish art includes paintings by the Scottish Colourists and the Glasgow Boys.
